That is what I thought. I tested that an export when not using Capistrano does export the externals, and it worked successfully. I guess there is something about the environment I am exporting to that is causing this issue. Is there a way that I can tell Capistrano to let me see all of the output form the SCM tasks so that I can see if it is even trying to do the external export or not?
