Go git, particularly if this is your first scm, that way you don't  
have to unlearn svn or cvs.  My team recenty switched to git from svn.  
Took about a day to retrofit our cap script collection without any  
real gotchyas related to git.

Works seamlessly with github, where you can get private git hosting  
for <$8/mo

Definately check out the remote cache deploy method!
