Hello Lee,
I think that in general good documentation will help a lot of people.
With Capistrano, there is a somewhat steeper mental barrier than
Rails. The situation is compounded due to the fact that you don't
"write" Capistrano scripts everyday since once written, they just tend
to work. While as a Rails developer, you are writing Rails code every
day.
Personally, I had to go through that barrier and I posted my queries
here. A lot of good people including someone by the name of Lee
Hambley helped me :). So I had to ask for help inspite of having the
excellent book "Deploying Rails Applications" available. The chapter
on Capistrano is alone worth the price of the book. Something similar
along with the "type" of questions that you get here, if that can be
captured in a set of related conceptual recipes, would go a long way
towards helping beginners.
I can help, but my knowledge of Capistrano is nowhere near yours and
other people on this forum. So please ask accordingly.
Regards,
Bharat
