If I do a set :user, "root" in the capfile it doesn't help... Also I'll
note that in the error it does say (Net::SSH::AuthenticationFailed: root)
so I think it does think it's root.

Your :user for capistrano is not set, looking at what you pasted, so it's
probably defaulting to a user that I guess doesn't exist called `deploy`.
