John, Looks like in that case the rsync|copy from the cached_copy to the release directory is ignoring hidden files… Take a look at the definition here, and see if you spot anything obvious: http://github.com/capistrano/capistrano/blob/master/lib/capistrano/recipes/deploy/strategy/remote_cache.rb#L39
