Hello I'd just like to raise my dismay at the copy strategy being excluded in Capistrano 3. I initially was using Cap 2, using exclusively copy strategy for many reasons, mainly:
- My GIT archive is local working repo. Since I exclusively work on all the code, there is no reason to have a bare repo or centralized git repo. Therefore copy strategy was perfect, I used it on many different deployments... Until you removed it. Frankly, now its gone, I can no longer use Capistrano (especially as I dont feel too comfortable relying on old unsupported versions). Really, can someone explain (1) why it was removed (2) if it can be replaced? I am sure there are many people like me who host their git repos locally and have no plans to centralize them, who have been using capistrano successfully and now cannot. Looking forward to hearing from you, thanks. Versions: - Ruby 2.0.0 - Capistrano 3.0 - Rake / Rails / etc Platform: - Working on.... OSX 10.9 - Deploying to...
