Jiang, does this problem occur when you run the guest as an
administrator?
Currently, we don't support starting the client application as a
different user. This might be a good feature to have in light of
vistas uac.

Hi:
Has anybody tried Capture for Vista guest OS? I cannot test capture
for Vista guest OS. After I started capture server on the host OS,
everything works fine at first, but after reverting the VM, there is
no more activities for the guest OS. And finally, I got a "Client
inactivity, reverting VM" message and it reverted the VM again
without visiting any web site.
I have tested capture for the XP guest OS on the same machine and
everything works fine.
I guess the problem is the capture server tries to use
VIX_RunProgramIntheGuest API to run capture client on the Vista
guest. But since Vista has UAC, capture client must run by using
"run as administrator" option. I can manually start capture by
choose "run as administrator" and then click "allow". But by using
VIX API, the user account on the guest OS is a limited user account
and user has no chance to "allow" it even if he would like to do it
manually.
Perhaps, I can run capture client by disabling UAC on Vista. But I
don't want to do it because I want to test the UAC protection.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jiang
