>From the descriptions below its not quite clear to me whether you have a successful setup and get intermittent failures or consistent failures all the time.
If the latter, make sure connectivity from client to server exists. One way to test that is to open listener on server on port 7070 (netcat can do that easily) and try to connect to server from the VM (using telnet serverIP 7070).
