Hi,
We are running into a bit of a problem with pitfall trap damage caused by
small mammals, probably mostly raccoons.

In the past I have had to resort to cutting squares of chickenwire (i.e.
metal poultry netting) to cover traps and using large stakes to hold that
in place to prevent the animals from ripping them up.

This is a pretty heavy handed solution and I would like to know if anyone
has a trap design that is a better answer to this problem.

This is for a long-term pitfall trap study.

best,
Kip
