This is wrong, Ideally we should try to move to a released version or to the particular trunk. If we are to depend on a internal branch in WSO2 that has to be branched out separately as you did in the ODE case.
Please note that if we are depending on a previously released WSO2 branch, for example like wso2v1 version of wss4j there is no need to keep that on the carbon platform, because it is an already released version.
