Hi Sumedha,
Did you check on that site.xml in core/docs? Can you add the following into
that and try again. Not sure, but I think that not having this is the cause.

<groupId>org.apache.maven.skins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-default-skin</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
</skin>
