Not all drivers support auto reconnect, so pool should handle this and 
invalidate broken connections. Validation query works fine with db mediators 
and data services, the issue only with registry and user management in esb 
3.0.1. Do you have any beta build of next esb release? I want to verify how 
this handled in 3.1.0

Honestly, I can't remember which workaround you're talking about :) ..
But yeah, this is a simple case of a connections being stale. And
yeah, as I remember the user-mgt code didn't have the validationQuery
functionality even when the registry had it, but now it does.

Yeah this is exactly the fix I was talking about :) Didn't know that old 
releases of Carbon do not support this parameter.
