+1. So instead of "new File(".")" you can use the extracting dir?

What if we do it like this;

new File(System.getProperty("basedir")).getAbsolutePath() + File.separator +
"target "+
File.separator + "carbontmp" +
               File.separator + extractedCarbonDir;

basedir is already available as a System property as per
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-surefire-plugin/test-mojo.html
