The original issues of using transitive dependencies + using the correct API methods (new ones in place of old ones), were actually the mistakes of the component itself, but will make it a point to fix such. Anyway we need to ensure that we adhere to the best practices, or if not, the person fixing a cross cutting component will have to fix several other unrelated ones due to the negligence of others. We hope that these issues would be sorted once the entire build is fixed, today. But, people have to preserve it, or the entire effort is not going to be worth it.
