The modifications are committed to the trunk. We could not upgrade this 2.5.1, because OpenSAML2 2.5.1 artifacts are not yet published to their M2 repo. For the moment, I have upgraded it to 2.4.1 which is latest version available in the M2 repo.
Anyway we will have to upgrade it to 2.5.1, once those artifacts are available. I have created a public jira to track this task [1]. I will write to the OpenSAML dev-list to check whether they are publishing these artifacts soon.
