Since I upgraded in early November, I get the following warning
on startup:

Warning: desktop file appears to be in use by PID 342.
Using it may cause conflicts. Use it anyway? (y or n)

(I answer ``y'' and things then seem fine.)

In the Messages buffer, this follows the following messages:

Carbon Emacs Package (Fall, 2007)
Loading cua-base...done
Loading desktop...done
Loading desktop...done
Loading places from /Users/joelseiferas/.emacs-places...done
Wrote /Users/joelseiferas/.emacs.desktop.lock
Desktop: 5 buffers restored.

The PID number varies, but seems to match what I find in
/Users/joelseiferas/.emacs.desktop.lock .

Is this a general problem, or just me?

p.s. My .emacs has, in custom-set-variables,
 '(save-place t nil (saveplace))
 '(desktop-save-mode 1)
Should I have just one of these or something?
