In my xterm under X11, my fixed type fonts ( courier and whatever ) have no smoothing. However every font I seem to select within Carbon Emacs is doing some sort of smoothing. I have tried all the drop down fonts from the Shift click menu ( 8,10,12.. x(bold)x(slant) ) and none of them seem to not use smoothing.
Usually I would have a fixed type font in X of a 12-point type, black background and white text. The letters are small but easily readable, and allow the maximum number lines of code on my screen. The pixels only seem to be on or off and don't cause me eye strain in X. If I go to this resolution with Carbon Emacs the blurry letters very quickly bother my eyes. Is there some trick to get the good old X11 un-smoothed fonts on the Carbon? I would be very appreciative!
