Hi,
I am having trouble while using Carbon Emacs together with Tramp and
CVS.

The setup is the following: I am running a virtual Ubuntu called
urbana on my mac. On urbana the cvs repository is checked out from a
remote server. I use Emacs to ssh in (using tramp) and edit the files
from the cvs.

The problem is that I can't use cvs from within Carbon Emacs. It
complains that no cvsroot is set. Running cvs commands from a logged
in shell works fine, also from emacs started inside a logged in
shell.

My cvsroot is the same on localhost as on the virual machine.

The error message is:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Repository : :ext:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/repository2
Module : XXX/YYY/src
Working dir: /ssh:urbana:/home/.../src

Message: cvs [update aborted]: or set the CVSROOT environment
variable.
Message: cvs update: No CVSROOT specified! Please use the `-d' option

--------------------- Empty ---------------------
-- last cmd: cvs -f -n update -d -P --

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It seems that the repository is set but still it complains. All help
is appreciated!
