Hi, I'm just trying out the demo site (http://care2x.org/foundry) and I feel the need for some (organisational) improvements. Please comment on them. Tell me also if you think it's too early to address usability questions before the basics (architectural redesign?) have been finished.
However: 1) I like the local and remote (wiki) help. But the wiki contains all kinds of developmental docs which are confusing for the end user. Therefore I propose a separation of the UM (Users Manual) part into a separate Wiki-Clone (if this is possible with phpwiki). So e.g. a search could be done on each of the wikis separately. The results would be much more specific. 2) Another question is the question of different languages. If I (an end user) do a search on the wiki using medical termini I get lots of results in all the different languages. I would prefer to see only my own language. I don't know how this could be done. 3) I'd like to know who and how many people are really using care2x or really planning to use it. Doesn't matter if you are sys admin, hospital manager, doctor, or nurse. My question is (in addition to the above "what do you need") - if you would consider it valuable to have a "care-users" mailing list of your own. Maybe it's not yet the moment, so this could be done in 2 weeks ;-) or in 6 months. But the moment will come. (If Care2x ever becomes productive). 4) I'd like to convince you (developers) to use the bugzilla as tracker for bugs and enhancement issues. Maybe because I like the underlying concept and the very powerful query tool which can satisfy the most sophisticated queries (and save the queries for repetitive use). Maybe I like it's customability concerning access rights or mail notifications on all kind of changes made to all kind of bugs. But, as I said in my reply to J.Antas: the tool decision should be strongly dependant on the customers' needs. However, perhaps we should try out several alternatives to be able to evaluate them. That's it in the moment.
