Kudos for Jos�!
But there is an error brought on to us by the US Army.  The winged staff
with two snakes does not represent Medicine but Commerce (and usually
Mercury is seen holding it).  The military selected the caduceus (on the
grounds that it was also used to represent neutrality when confronting sides
in war), spread the err-concept all over their trucks, the net, stock image
CD's and Microsoft Clip-Arts.  This has even permeated into fonts.
Asclepius is represented as the Greek god of healing.  Asclepius carries a
staff without wings and only one snake.
We can really argue on and on about this subject.  Personally, since Mercury
is also used sometimes to represent thieves and lawyers... I would recommend
the staff over the caduceus for Care logos.
