Hello all,

I have successfully tested the image acquire and upload application created by
Kurt Brauchli. You can get the python application from here:

http://telemed.utr.ac.za/imagedrop/

You can see my test images by clicking the "test_elpidio_2" link.

If you have not installed a python, you can also get the windows client
version from the same site. Though, for both versions, you need to install
the Python Image Library for windows . You can get it from here

http://www.pythonware.com/products/pil/

You also need the TWAIN module from here:

http://twainmodule.sourceforge.net/

The image acquire works only in windows because it uses the TWAIN driver for
USB web cameras.

On of the practical uses of this cam-image grab and upload is for taking
photo ID of patient during the registration (or admission) process. Remember
those tiny cams on the airport check-ins? Yes, we like to copy that
functionality. No, we are not thinking of taking fingerprints of patients :-)

We will develop this app to use the hxp protocol to make it usable not only
for Care2x but for other apps too like OIO or FreeMed, etc.

Regards,
elpidio
