Basic tenant Hipaa is a joke has nothing to do with privacy, has so many loop hole from the politicians. In principle it was a good law implementation has been a nightmare no one knows what the hell it means.
So general rule of thumb we need to be able to authorize who is allowed access to the data in manner that ensures the patient has given consent for that individual or organization to acces the data. Then we need to create a log of of what was shared how long, if the data was printed or saved by that user. Again the person with whom the data is being shared should not have the right to just grab a record and save to their files or print them without the patients expressed consent. Maybe you can help us some more on this matter since you understand the HIPAA much better. elpidio On Wednesday 05 May 2004 22:09, matthew wrote: > Elpido does it have to be a email or is some other type of encrypted > messaging system possible, and could this be more efficient? ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by Sleepycat Software Learn developer strategies Cisco, Motorola, Ericsson & Lucent use to deliver higher performing products faster, at low TCO. http://www.sleepycat.com/telcomwpreg.php?From_______________________________ ________________ Care2002-developers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/care2002-developers ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by Sleepycat Software Learn developer strategies Cisco, Motorola, Ericsson & Lucent use to deliver higher performing products faster, at low TCO. http://www.sleepycat.com/telcomwpreg.php?From=osdnemail3 _______________________________________________ Care2002-developers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/care2002-developers
