Elpidio and other members, I have recently suscribed to this list. I would like to know some topics about the current developments of the system: 1- Where can I see the modules and features in development? 2- How could someone contribute with ideas to a new module/features? And who is in charge to make the decision of what features to include in a new module? 3- What is the role of the Project Managers? 4- Is there a web page or a tool to manage this kind of information?
I think is very important for all to know the current develepments, publish the expected time of release (although it can change because everybody has its personal activities) and to manage this information with some web based tool (I dont know any but I guess there is some tool) This is the first time I participate in an open source project and I coulnt find if this kind of things have been talked before. Perhaps are well known by other members of the group. Hello all, for those who are wondering what I am doing now with the program, here are my current activities. 1) Generally I am trying to focus my activities to improving the "core" of Care2x and will lower the priorities of the "features-only" additions. The distant goal is to have a generic framework (with classes) that will ease the development of additional modules by others. 2) The separation of the business logic from the GUI using the Smarty templates. This is going very well. The template system will give you the possibility to redesign or rearrange the elements of each page. 3) The implementation of CSS design for the entire application. This is being done in parallel with the work on Smarty templates. Good news, this is now working nicely. In fact, the next release will be having 7 CSS design themes like Lemon, Winter Ice, Dry Stone, Tech Blue, Station white, Brushed Metal, Pastel Blue. A theme is user-selectable for each workstation and you can easily edit each design too :-) 4) The application will be tested for DB2 very soon. 5) Testing for Oracle is raised to a higher priority. This is in connection to good developments in Italy. 6) More debugging for the PostgreSQL version. In this case, I am waiting for bug reports from PostgreSQL users. 7) Testing and integrating modules and plugins coming from other developers like the Latex based Reporter from Dr. LIOT, DRG modules from Ingo Zungenmaier and the Module Generator from Leo Schenk. thanks, elpidio ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by Black Hat Briefings & Training.
