Hello,

Just a short report about the project status of the Content
translation project of the upcomming PLOS Medicine Journal.

The Medicine Journal of PLoS will start at ~October.
An initial Wiki was set up, to demonstrate it different organisations.
There is a Support from the German Wikipedia Foundation to run this
demo.
Than it goes to the Internal Board of Directors of different
Organisations. First to PLoS. It will include at this time some
translations from PLoS Biology to show the navigation and to clear the
usability. Help pages and Handbook will be available.
Next review goes to Prof. Lessig and a group of lawyers. The same time
the Debian law specialists are included, because they have some
concerns about the GNU FDL, what is not compatible with the Debian
Free Software Guidlines. So it is at the moment not clear the content
can be on a Debian or Knoppix CD if inside the Wiki are parts of GNU
FDL.

Today an experienced Wikipedia admin from Japan joined the project.
There is now a japanise language for demo in front of the IBoD.
I did setup and connect both wikis with their namespaces.
Tom from Japan is in the CC commitee of his country.

"[07:45]<tomos> I am also a member of Japanese Creative Commons,
the official project to develop japanese version of CC licenses."
It seems that some Scientists and MD's from there are highly
interested.

If someone from the developers list are experienced with the
wikipedia software and can provide an additional language please send
me a mail.
