I am a programmer in Dallas, TX and am interested in the care2x system
-- especially as it pertains to network/webservices interchange of info
-- but am kind of overwhelmed by the quantity of material to absorb.
What are the best packages/standards to read up on in order to be
reasonably informed? Who are the important organizations/companies? I
am currently looking at

GOCC
Of particular interest to me would be any studies/testimonials about
software deployments in developing nations, or in regions without an
existing healthcare technology infrastructure. I am close to some
people who could sponsor work like that.
