Hi All,

Thanks susheel for starting this initiative.

I can commit on a few developers (PHP who are aware of the care2x infrastructure, and also been good php persons for more than 4 years) for this initiative.

I myself would love to participate in the requirements elicitation and other aspects. If you think it is doable, I would like to suggest that we use a WIKI to document our thoughts, and write down a feature list that my developers can start working on after the requirements are clear.

Thanks
Sarath.

Hello Charles, Godfrey and Susheel,

This is an open source project and that it will work, we have to do it.
Elpidio or Kaloyan can not coding this module for us and this is definetly
not their job to bring our concepts/requirements to an php-code, he can just
take our finished modules and make some wise quality check and maybe others
can bring the requirements of other non-African countries into this module.
The open source idea is: If there is something on an OSS project missing:
Think about - do it - presenting it.

I think what we have to do is to bring the requirements for such an new
modules together. I was together with Godfrey in Dar Es Salaam/Tanzania for
a meeting especially to this topic. Might we have especially the "National
Care and Treatment Program" basic requirements for the Tanzanian Government
now. There are some other specifications and we should also keep the
flexibility of the data by different government and local district
requirements together.

Also we have to clear in what kind of way these data could be extracted that
some so called "third party products" can handle it and makes own statistics
out of these collected data.

I don't know if all other developers want to share this discussions about
this detailed and very specific requirements - maybe we can move discussions
for requirements to the fossfa-health list. Please let me know what you're
thinking about that? (As far as I remember - to bring all requirements for
East Africa together and discuss it on the fossfa-health was one of the
conclusions what we had in Dar Es Salaam)

Here we can discuss afterwards how to integrate it into the care2x and maybe
can discuss with he others how much sense it will give to add smarty to this
module. Let us discuss e.g. the smarty-front-end-issue here as so called
"follow up", not the ARV/HIV requirements for East Africa.
In other words: Let us discuss the requirements for East Africa at the
fossfa-health together. This will not been done with some emails, I'm
expecting several emails till we can find a conclusion for that requirement.
Later on, when we have cleared up all requirements and having some coded
classes and/or care2x modules, I think we are flexible enough to present the
ideas what we have collected to this care2x developer list and clear up the
way how we can bring it to the main development of care2x as an independent,
individual module.

To collect the data is one of the requirements. More and less there is an
other very important topic, that is called "reporting-module". Latter is
more interesting for other developers on this list and is still missing at
care2x at all.

That is what I'm suggesting to this list. Feel free to criticize it, answer
to it and helpful suggestions are warm welcome

Robert

Hi Charles,
I'm trying to organize the people that work on Care2x in Tanzania, so
that
we can share our view and see where the project goes.

We've had a few meetings on Health in Tanzania and how ICT can help
out. I
managed to meet one more person working on Care2x in Arusha. It would
be
nice if we could all get in touch and share our ideas.

I have put up a website http://care2x.itfarm.co.tz . Robert and I
have
agreed on uploading our care2x files there and share the progress so
that we
don't create completely two different versions of the same system.

what do you think?

P.S: Could you send me your swahili module?
