i agree with you, sf has a lot of problems practically with everything.
i'm currently looking for something a bit more powerfull than launchpad.
More powerful than launchpad?
You could save yourself a lot of time and needless effort just by spending a few minutes at: https://launchpad.net/+tour/index and https://help.launchpad.net/FrontPage#user-guide

Do you really miss anything else?

and yes, i develop under ubuntu.
Well, if you know the Ubuntu philosophy, you know Launchpad: it just works. And works pretty well indeed!

as you may know, healthcare systems tend to have a development rule
which is not the "release quick, release often".

On the contrary, DEVELOPMENT healthcare systems software MUST follow the "release quick, release often" and "a million eyeballs do catch bugs better than a single pair" rules.

PRODUCTION Healthcare systems software (that affecting real patient lives) is the one which must have SLOW and SECURE setup/upgrade cycles.

A note:
Healthcare systems are critical systems,i.e., systems that may not fail (like aeroplanes, or nuclear facilities), because if they fail peole usually die. Healthcare supporting IT should be stable and bug free. But it is an unavoidable fact of life that every piece of software has bugs. The problem is that bugs in Health IT have the potential to kill people (if you loose data, or change it in an unintended way, those events may cause morbidity or mortality).

we are working on stable systems with as a minimum of changes as possible.

Stable PRODUCTION Healthcare IT systems should have as minimum changes as possible IF the code does not have critical bugs. If a critical bug is found the system should be immediately stopped and kept down until a patch to remove the critical bug can be installed.

An example: if by misfortune you detect a bug that, in 1 in million patients, lets the code exchange the life saving heart medication of one patient with the oncologic chemotherapy that should be given to another... then the red button should be pressed and the system IMMEDIATELY halted until the the buggy routine can be substituted for a safer one.

that's why i will start releasing
the first beta this week and expect to become stable near the end of the year.

That's why you should be practicing "release quick, release often" and letting the world help you catch the bad bugs.

Anyway, just keep up the good work Gjergj.

... and show us the code, it does not need to be pretty or bug free.

Regards,

M.
