The management of a Pathology Lab has nothing simple about it: - the people that work in such a lab (widely viewed a complex adaptive system), - the hardware and its maintenance, - the complexity of both physiological (normal) and the pathological issues, - the idiosyncrasies of each country laws and clinical data coding systems. That given, I think that you will have a hard time finding such a thing as a "simple version of Pathology Lab Management software". If you have time, you may take a look at reliable Open Source projects like WorldVista, ClearHealth or OpenEMR (just do a quick google for them), but, most probably, you will not find in them what you are looking for. You may even be tempted by elusive things like Bikalabs <http://www.bikalabs.com/>. But, for now, your best action may be to just go with some proprietary and paid for package, let yourself be locked into it and pray for them to be merciful with you. :-) ... Or you could ask nicely Gjergj (and pay him handsomely), for him to to find/build/ADAPT for your needs a piece of code that suits you.
