Hi Kushal,
If you're just using Caret, then you can flip a coin. It runs great on
both platforms. Three of five Caret users in our lab use MacOSX, while
two others use Linux.
SureFit doesn't run on MacOSX, but we're in the process of merging its
functions into Caret. We're still hoping to complete this process by
the end of this year, but there are no guarantees. If you are planning
to use SureFit, then that factor shifts the weight toward Linux.

Hi,
I am planning to use the CARET in the my neuro imaging
lab. Also I am in a split of deciding whether to buy
Linux based Machines or Mac OS X Machines as my
workstations.
Does anyone knows about the problems that could come
up using CARET on both these machines. In short I
would like to know that whether there is plenty of
support for both these platforms or not, so that I can
make my decision of buying the machines.
Thanks
Kushal
