The only "Van Essen cortical parcellation scheme" of which I am aware is
for the macaque. Actually there are two: The Felleman and Van Essen
(FVE) and Lewis and Van Essen (LVE). If the above slides don't suffice,
then you'll probably need to get Caret and step through part 3 (or at
least section 3.2, page 56) of this tutorial:
