Thanks a lot for your reply. May I have a further question about .stl file
with caret_file_convert? Is the .stl file that caret_file_convert produces
a standard .stl format that can be read by other softwares? Did you try to
import the .stl file produced by caret_file_convert to any other software
package which claims to read .stl file?

Hi John,
It looks encouraging. I just tried this on a Freesurfer surface:
caret_file_convert -sc -is FSS rh.orig -os STL rh.stl
Then, I opened it in Caret using File: Import: STL surface. It looked
good.
Give it a shot on your data.
