Hi all,

After yesterday's post, David came and asked me about the status of getting SPM5 surfaces in the PALS atlas. I started working on this a while ago, but ran into matlab troubles that have since been resolved. Basically, I just need to spatially normalize all 12 Buckner subjects using SPM5's spatial normalization, and then apply the resulting deformation map to the surfaces. Then they will be incorporated into the Caret distribution, so that you will see a SPM5 option on the PALS mapping target menus.

David and I both agree that this needs to be done, but that I'm working on now is more important.

In the meantime, I would use the SPM2 target when mapping SPM5 data, but include a footnote that the SPM2 target was used.

How much should you worry about any potential differences? While I wouldn't lose any sleep, I'd expect differences at least as great as those seen comparing SPM2 with SPM99 in these captures:

Overall, it's still a valid way to visualize group results, in my opinion; feel free to quote this post, if desired.

Hi Cedric,

Did you feed Caret a .hdr/.img pair or a .nii NIfTI volume? I think you'll have better luck with the latter.

Hi,

I’m a new user of caret.

I’m trying to visualise retinotopic map analysed by SPM5 with Caret. No problems to segment and inflate the structural image. But I can’t overlay activation map even on the structural volume in caret whereas they seems to be aligned in SPM5.

I think have missed something simple but I don’t know how to do.

Thank you,
