Hi Ido,

There may be features of which I am not aware, but the only way I know 
how to compute geodesic distance on a surface is through the Surface: 
ROI menu.

Select the Inflated surface, all nodes, Operation Selection: Geodesic 
distance.  You can specify the source node by number or click it with 
your mouse.

This will create metric and geodesic columns (probably identical, but 
differ in D/C options) of geodesic distance from the source node -- *to 
each node*.  So you'll have to save this metric file as ASCII and look 
up the distance by node number.

I don't know a more direct route, unfortunately.
