The white matter is not needed.

Peace,

Matt.

Subject: [caret-users] myelin, ribbon

Matt - thanks

Making an actual ribbon with the normal command requires an aseg. I don't
have that of course. I saw someone else doing monkey who just called
orig.mgz aseg.mgz and got a result. But mine computes the 4 distances, then
segfaults.

I can use mri_ribbon. that gives me (for left or right surfaces) the GM at
255, everything else 0.

I can combine those (I have) and color each side appropriately (it's 3 and
42)

But bert's ribbon also has WM. That would be hard to make for me. Do I need
it (i.e. can I just have the GM, everything else 0) and if I do need it, how
accurate does it need to be? I could knowck something up from my original WM
segmentation maybe (If I have it for these surfaces), but it would have
holes and stuff in it. Bert is completely filled (cortical GM, everything
else, and nothing. 3 regions. tricky to do for me).

hopefully just a GM ribbon ok?
