Hi Alex,

Yes: You can write out Caret coord files as ASCII text:

http://brainvis.wustl.edu/CaretHelpAccount/caret5_help/file_formats/file_formats.html#coordFile

You can use caret_command -file-convert -format-convert to batch convert a
bunch of coord files, or you can use the File: Save Data File: type=Coordinate
dialog. The default format is usually binary, but you can change it to ASCII.
At least in Caret5.

Note that each configuration of a surface (fiducial/midthickness/pial/white,
inflated, spherical, flat) has its own coord file, and would need to be saved
separately.

But they all share a vertex number in the first column.
