This can be tricky/weird. The surfaces need to be in the same view, in the sense of Surface: View: Adjust View (scale, rotation, translation, etc.) -- in the main window.
For example, say you have mean midthickness surfaces for group A in Window 1, group B in Window 2. Both are dorsal view. You yoke window 2 to window 1, and switch to lateral view. Now group A's view in the main window is lateral, but the main window view of group B is still dorsal (even though it looks lateral in window 2, which is yoked). If you interpolate between the two, weirdness will result. You need to switch both surfaces to the same view in the main window. Use Surface: View: Save User View for this purpose.
