FYI, I have automake 1.9.6
It's a pain, that debian for some packages incorporates the version
number into the packagename!
In aptitude i looked for automake and installed the first version I
found automake1.4, not knowing that there are packages named
automake1.5, .., automake1.9.
Sorry for causing such a lot of confusion.
