Hello chers amis, et développeurs,

Concernant ma question suite à l'article "/pub" de Mikro$oft sur la
compatibilité du format OpenXML avec DAISY.xml, j'ai entretemps obtenu une
réponse "from source" cad de Peter Korn himself, réponse intéressante
à la fois pour les utilisateurs et pour tous ceux qui expérimentent:

Dear Osvaldo,

OOo does not presently ship with "Save As DAISY" functionality. The OOo
accessibility team has been thinking about DAISY issues, and
specifically the OASIS OpenDocument format accessibility subcommittee (a
subcommittee of the ODF standards body) specifically reviewed ODF in
light of potential conversion to DAISY and made a few modifications to
the ODF specification in the released spec. version 1.1 to support DAISY
translation needs. In addition, Dave Pawson (both a DAISY member and an
ODF accessibility subcommittee member) has done work in the ODF pipeline
as of many months ago (long before the Microsoft announcements) to add
ODF to the DAISY pipeline.

We've had a number of conversations with individuals in the DAISY
consortium (among them George Kersher), and are reviewing the
possibility of adding good Save-As DAISY support to OOo. Key challenges
aren't in the actual conversion, but in the tasks to ensure that the
original OOo Writer document is well-formed, and in providing a good
user experience for the document author who will likely need to modify
their document in order to generate valid DAISY.

Regards,

Peter Korn

----- End of fwd -----

Aldo.
