You can't use SAML to authenticate @gmail.com accounts.  The SAML SSO
service is only for GoogleApps domains (
http://code.google.com/apis/apps/sso/saml_reference_implementation.html).
 So if you create a @myuniv.edu GoogleApps domain, you will be able to
access x...@myuniv.edu using your local credentials via CAS, but all @
gmail.com accounts are ONLY accessible using the userid & password stored at
Google.
