Celebrating the release last week of Helios (Eclipse 3.6) I have updated
instructions previously contained in a PPT presentation and created an
article on J2EE Development with Maven and Eclipse (with CAS Server as the
example) at
http://isa.its.yale.edu/confluence/display/CAS/J2EE+Development+with+Maven+a
nd+Eclipse

It is intended to be read as a Page Family, so read the child pages in
order. The article will expand over the next few weeks and when stabilized
will move to the JA-SIG confluence.

This reflects the current Eclipse Maven plugin model that creates a separate
Eclipse project for every Maven project rather than the former model that
created one big project with many source directories. There are detailed
instructions to circumvent particular problems caused by the current
releases of everything (Eclipse 3.6, m2eclipse, Maven 2.2.1, CAS Server
3.4.2) where for a variety of reasons not everything works just out of the
box.

Since step by step instructions never work as intended, this is supposed to
explain how each component is designed to operate, what it is supposed to
do, and why it works that way.
