Sounds like a great move to me, since this code isn't yet a part of the
CAS distribution and since the CAS codebase is working on a migration to
github anyway.

don't mind letting the list have occasional status updates.
Absolutely. I'm thinking I might just move this over to github to
facilitate collaboration. Anyone see any issues with such a move?
