For whatever it's worth: I suggest a higher-bandwidth communication
mechanism. A Google Hangout, e.g., allowing video and voice discussion.

While I appreciate the opportunity to leverage video and voice, IRC is
becoming an official communication channel for the project. For
anything likely to result in decision points we should use something
official. For hashing stuff out and arguing, I would welcome a Google
Hangout (although I have no resources to do A/V from my desktop
workstation in any case).
