So I have two CAS servers running the exact same CAS server war (4.0) and tomcat 7.0.52. I will refer to these as Server1 and Server2 for simplicity.
Server1 regularly gets an OOM exception. It's caught and handled. The dynaTrace shows its committed memory staying at 639.03 MB. The used memory is staying under 200 MB. I've tried restarting Server1, and it will keep grabbing all the heap (over 4 hours) but only use less than 1/3. Server2 has committed memory right around 200MB and is using a slightly smaller amount of memory. Has anyone ever had a CAS server ask for a lot of memory it isn't using like this before? Any suggestions of what could be different that would cause this? I've restarted, I've checked that the wars were identical and gone through the configs line by line to look for differences. I've verified version of jdk, tomcat, and checked permissions. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
