Subject: Re: [cas-dev] Travis build time improvements and status

Hi,

We still have a problem with the Sonatype deployment. This is currently done
by the Bamboo build with doesn't work anymore because of the Java 7 upgrade.

I sent an email to the infrastructure guys to get more information on this.

But maybe the best solution is to deploy the SNAPSHOT artifacts to Sonatype
during the Travis build (like I did for the cas-server-security-filter) and
definitely give up on Bamboo.

Best regards,

Logs, logs, logs :)

So much log data was outputted during the build that simply often halted the
build. Also, we were by default running a number of checks that took their
sweet time, beyond the normal build process. (i.e if the build is generating
javadocs, there is no need to check for license headers, etc) The Travis CI
team also had a few suggestions on how to get the build back to a functional
state:

Team,

I have massaged our travis build slightly to improve test execution and
performance. Our builds were timing out beyond the travis-set 50-minute mark
and thus more often than before failing incorrectly. The changes should
help. Some stats follow:

Before changes (50 minutes):

https://travis-ci.org/Jasig/cas/builds/34077332

After changes: (27 minutes)

https://travis-ci.org/Jasig/cas/builds/34161357

This includes generating javadocs, building the project site, running test
coverage, etc. PRs should also continue to report build status more
accurately.

Also we might be able to review our tests and see if we can reduce
dependency on external resources to help performance-wise. Here are the
stags I get back from running test coverage:
