The images are for now treated as base images used for testing and demonstration purposes. We have not begun the work to fully make them production-ready. If you examine the Dockerfile, that would give an idea what docker attempts to do upon the build. At this point, the massaging of the configuration and build is on you until we get around to utilizing the base image via an overlay image. This is extremely new, and will require further work. If you are willing to do the work to get the base image used in a child overlay image and contribute back, that would be great.
