We had the same issue with Single Logout closing out Blackboard sessions during exams. We followed this link to disable it.

Our Blackboard group traced this to our CAS server initiating a request to Blackboard that is causing the logout. We've told them that even if it is CAS sending the request, Blackboard has to be doing something with the request in order to invalidate user's sessions.
