What does your redirect URL from CAS to portal look like? 

And what sort of warning is this? “Your password has expired”? Or “Your 
password is about to expire”? Your description is a bit confusing because the 
former constitutes no CAS active session. Your cannot establish an SSO session 
with an expired account.

Subject:  [cas-user] CAS Redirect Issues after warning message is generated  

We are in the process of upgrading to uPortal 4.3 and have a welcome page set 
up with "Sign in' links to uPortal . The welcome page serves the purpose of 
displaying few portlets for the unauthenticated users as well as providing the 
link to sign onto uPortal.

The problem we are running into is when there is a warning message generated 
within CAS for password expiry and the user is getting shown an intermediate 
page with the warning message before being redirected. 

In this scenario, the user is getting redirected to the welcome page again 
though he is having an active CAS session . This can be confirmed by the fact 
that if the  'Sign in" link is clicked   again , the user is correctly directed 
to the home dashboard. 

The flow works fine when there are no warning messages.

I am confused why the redirection is not happening to the dashboard immediately 
after sign in.

We are using CAs 4.0.7 and uPortal 4.3.1​
