The personDirectoryPrincipalResolver isn't necessary to work with the default user, but I added it because I saw https://github.com/apereo/cas/blob/master/support/cas-server-support-pac4j/src/main/java/org/apereo/cas/support/pac4j/config/support/authentication/Pac4jAuthenticationEventExecutionPlanConfiguration.java#L78 Apart from adding cas-server-support-pac4j-webflow to the pom.xml and configuring the cas.authn.pac4j.facebook settings, I didn't need to change anything else to the Maven overlay to reproduce this issue.
