Hi,

is it possible to tune the performance of the REST API to create TGTs, e.g.
with CAS configuration settings? Which ticket registry provides the best
performance for a single CAS instance deployment?

Background: We are currently replacing an OpenAM instance with CAS (V
5.0.7, deployed in Tomcat 8.5, LDAP authentication, default in-memory
ticket registry). One task is to enable machine authentication via API. We
would like to use the CAS REST API for that.
I have created a performance test case that gets a TGT, gets ST, validates
ST and logs out. However, on our test machine, getting the TGT takes some
time. We have to support a minimum of 100 logins per second. With varying
number of concurrent test threads, we were never able to complete more than
75 TGT requests per second.
This is probably comparing apples and oranges, but e.g. with the same
number of concurrent threads, in OpenAM it was possible to create 450
sessions per second via API (same test machine, same LDAP).

Any suggestions/tips/experience would be helpful.

Thanks,
Udo
