I don't think it would be wise for me to claim that. I was mostly trying to document how SSL trust works with regard to the CN on a cert, including a wildcard CN. I'd recommend you try it out and report back on your findings. If it doesn't work, I would recommend you check out the links I provided for some background and some canned alternatives (commons-ssl). Either way it would be helpful for you to report on what does and doesn't work for your setup so others can learn from your experience.
